Kseniya Staravoitava

My work explores the human body as a vessel of emotion, movement, and vulnerability. Each painting places a solitary nude figure within an elemental landscape — water, sky, fire — using the tension between the figure and its surroundings to speak about intimacy, exposure, and the quiet intensity of being seen. I work primarily in oil and acrylic on canvas, alternating between vivid, saturated color and stark monochrome to shift the emotional register of each piece. My process is intuitive and physical: the brushwork itself becomes part of the narrative, layered and textured like the feelings it tries to hold. I'm drawn to moments of stillness within motion — a body caught mid-gesture, suspended between control and surrender.
