Carlos Gutierrez Pintos

Born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, Felipe Pigmento is a lifelong artist with studies at the National School of Fine Arts and a primarily self-taught formation, who has dedicated over four decades to developing a deeply personal visual language.

Seeking to communicate with the intangible part of the human being, with an ancestral aesthetic, using geometric forms, confining composition and generating a strong emotional contrast that suggests the primitive element is not merely decorative, but a deliberate attempt to channel a deeply intimate spiritual freedom, through a perfectly measured chaos.

Adopting a slow and deliberate technique with dense textures built dot by dot, sometimes using his fingers as an alternative to the brush; creating images that move between the figurative and the abstract.

His palette draws from the natural world — deep blues, intense oranges, and organic greens. His paintings are built through organic forms, bold spirals, and vivid contrasts inspired by nature.

His work has been exhibited in local galleries in Montevideo and has gained recognition with over 5,000 followers on Instagram.
