Tonio Ferritto

Tonio Ferritto is an Italian visual artist living in Switzerland whose practice spans oil painting and digital art. Active since 2012, his work has been presented through local exhibitions, pop-up galleries and independent art presentations.

His practice is highly intuitive, moving between figurative, abstract and supernatural imagery. Human figures often appear as memories, apparitions or emotionally charged presences, with recurring themes of identity, vulnerability, beauty, mortality and the uncanny.

Rather than pursuing technical polish for its own sake, Ferritto is interested in atmosphere, emotional presence and the way color, imperfection and intuition can give an image its own life.

Ferritto’s formal education is in engineering, business and banking rather than fine art. His artistic practice is largely self-taught. His early exposure to art was influenced in part by a former partner who was studying art at the time, but his own development came primarily through direct experimentation and an instinctive approach to image-making.

What began as an exploratory first attempt quickly became a serious and enduring practice. Since then, he has continued to develop his own visual language independently, guided more by intuition, emotional response and experimentation than by academic convention.
