Amitesh Verma

Amitesh Verma was born in 1976, Verma is a renowned Indian visual artist whose practice reflects a strong foundation in classical drawing and painting, enriched by extensive international exposure.

His work shows a strong command over drawing and painting blend with contemporary and classical technique . He is a great admirer of European great masters. Based in New Delhi, he has built a distinguished career through exhibitions, artist residencies, museum studies, and cultural exchange programmes across the world.

In a very short span of time, Amitesh Verma has made a niche for himself through the intricate portrayal of Horses and human figures. He is known for his portrayal of horses with great attention to detail and several works have lots of smudges, redundant lines and empty spaces which signify his own losses in life. His figurative works are more towards spirituality, society and Indian culture. He is also very famous for his painting horses which he studied them for almost a decade at Delhi Race Club, New Delhi, India.

He subsequently pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from the College of Art, University of Delhi (1998–2004). He further enrolled in the four years fundamental programme in drawing and painting at the Angel Academy of Art, Florence, Italy,
