Barbara Kowalczuk

Barbara Kowalczuk („KowA”) creates emotionally charged paintings in which abstraction and realism engage in a subtle dialogue. Her work unfolds as an ongoing process of exploration, where intuition and conscious decisions, spontaneity and reflection come together. Trough gesture, colour and texture, each composition becomes a space for discovery, allowing the painting to evolve through the interplay of chance, intension and emotion.

Her work reveals a delicate balance between spontaneity and control, expression and form. Bold colour contrasts, layered surfaces and rich textures bring depth and a sense of inner tension to each painting. Every piece invites the viewer into a personal encounter with the artwork — an open space for emotion, reflection and individual interpretation.

Barbara Kowalczuk completed postgraduate studies in Painting at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań, Poland.
