Vincent Heyninck is a Belgian Artist influenced by Taoism. By rearranging and recycling images and symbols he playfully creates his own calligraphy that reflects the sublime state of the world and also gives hope in depicting the natural flow and balance of life.
Symbolic language like birds, rats, heads, dogs occur on a regular basis and refer to the unconscious elements of our existence.
His domain of research is the culture in its whole: past, present and future, with a strong ethical motive by which the practise of painting as a medium is crucial:
'For me painting remains an inexhaustible medium with a specific and strong sensibility. Pictural layers are used to dig deeper into our collective imagery and in that way I try to take the pulse of myself and society.'
