Penelope Cake

My art practices are multi disiplinary, spanning from the study of colour & light in painting practices to sculptural ghost costumes I use in film or digital media to create a print based ghost series.
Having spent my childhood on building sites, I learnt about various materials. I done a design course in sugarcraft where I worked with the architecture of tiered cakes, modelling & sculpturing. I gained an in depth understanding of colour through a spiritual understanding & course in colour healing, which developed my inner gifts, the perception of ethereal dimensions, auras, ghosts & spirits. Then in opening up to universal consciousness in a higher state of awareness I studied colour & light in abstract painting practices. In doing this however, I found I had too express the shadows of the psyche too, where I developed a ghost series through combined methods of soft sculptured costume, film, photography, digital media & prints. To express the human experience of the shadow of the psyche, the masked personna & expressions of pain or joy in a figurative formate..
