DAMSS: Fibers develop into Art.
DAMSS stands for Daniela Arnoldi and Marco Sarzi-Sartori, a pair of Milanese artists who have worked exclusively on joint projects for over thirty years.
As leading figures in 21st-century Italian and International Fiber Art, and longtime advocates for the circular economy, they create elaborate, textural artworks using salvaged
materials from the textile industry.
Their works are characterized by a powerful sense of three-dimensionality and physicality, achieved through a rich abundance of materials, details, and the use of polymateriality to create sculpture-dresses, installations, totem-dresses, exhibition panels, and immense tapestries.
Their themes represent a synthesis and re-elaboration of cultural and intellectual interactions and their formative backgrounds (environmental engineering, architecture, design, sculpture, and textile art).
They are primarily connected to the concepts of genius loci (the spirit of a place), Italian identity, architectural monumentality, and sustainability.

In the past we have attended a lot of art courses, expecially the School of Art in Milano which extended our creativity.

Our artistic training comes in graphics and composition, applying processes with different materials: paper (production, diying, treatments, creations), glass (blown, Tiffany, fused glass), metals (handling, welding, treatment), Wood (techniques processing, restoration of antique furniture), fabrics (manipulation, weaving, felt natural and synthetic).
