"I am originally from the rural south and had to overcome an upbringing in a rural area with a huge deficit of fine art instruction in the public schools. Inspired by the need for local,affordable, ad professional art classes for children, I have developed a curriculum to help our youth to learn the secrets to success in drawing, before they lose interest due to frustration"
Ms. Schmalz received her formal art education from the prestigious New York School Of Visual Arts. She also studied at the highly respected Atlanta College of Art Now called the Savannah School of Art and Design.
Ms. Schmalz's art career encompasses women and children clothing design, prop creation and illustration work for the PBS television series" Barney and Friends" and copyright illustration for the University of Washington in Seattle. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas,and the Seattle Center in Seattle ,Washington.
