Saree Silverman

My work varies in both medium and content, but what seems to be a primary source of inspiration is nature, more specifically the idea of collective behavior in plants, animals, and bacteria. Whether it's a print made up of tiny marks repeated across the page or an installation made up of thousands of little pieces, my work is often laborious, tedious, and meticulous. I believe that art, first and foremost, should have a visual presence - a seductive beauty.
