Marcelo Tabach

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I’ve been passionate about photography since childhood, capturing scenes and expressions long before owning my first camera.

Portrait photography is at the heart of my work—I’m driven by the challenge of revealing the essence and individuality of each person in a single frame.

My professional journey began at Veja Magazine in 1989, followed by Jornal do Brasil (1990–1993), where I contributed across multiple editorial sections, with a strong focus on the Sunday Magazine. In 1993, I joined Caras Magazine at its launch, working as a photographer and photo editor in Rio de Janeiro until 2004. During this period, I led photography teams and covered major events such as Carnival, Ilha de Caras, and international assignments across approximately 40 countries.

In 2006, I became Photo Editor at Contigo Magazine, where I spent seven years photographing, editing, and managing the Rio de Janeiro photography team.

Since 2004, I have been working as a freelance photographer, developing a wide range of projects while remaining true to what inspires me most—capturing authentic moments.

Based in Lisbon since 2019, I continue to be available for new collaborations and assignments.
