I like East meet West culture.
Many of my works display high-rise apartments and crowded streets, while in contrast, others depict landscapes of mountains and fields of moonlight. Some of my works have greater variations on displaying ethnic minorities. I have a widely used range of colours from the traditional lacquer colours of red, yellow and black, light green and silver in certain works. My current body of work explores the changing Vietnam. Traditional Vietnam consists of ancient sacred structures to modern contemporary buildings.
I mix the traditional with modern. Recently, i like to mix American abstract expressionism with Oriental calligraphy and some of Vietnam's architecture on my artworks. I strives to capture the new Vietnam's internal feeling and quality as well as the external perception it generates.
The external is perceived by the visible changing landscape, but the internal is held within my spirit. My spirit contains the power and aspiration and the concealed reality of what Vietnam can present to the world.
