Sabina Gavrilovic

I was born in 1971 in Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina. I came to Sweden in December 1992. When I was 21 and had fled from the civil war with my brother. Parents were left in the horror.
When I fled here I was in the middle of a teacher. I had gone economical secondary line but secretly dreamed about educating me to the artist.
When the family was reunited in Sweden and eventually ended up in Falkenberg could I seek to Falkenberg´s art school where I went from 2005 to 2006. I was one of the last ones went Falkenberg art school in Nyby`s facilities, before it went on to be a completly online education. That year was a turning point for me. I got a language, a means of expression that was my own. Previously, I had signed a lot, often in coal. I n Falkenberg art school colors became my new universe.
I ofen work in large format. I make less stuff but also many paintings are from 80x80 cm upp to 170x 200 cm.

Storan, Falkenberg. 10.11 2013
On October 11, I showed pictures of the stage and in the foyer of Storan in Falkenberg in connection with a concert by Andrew Long and Harald Bergengren. They are two Falkenberg musicians with a repertoire of show, jazz and blues. It was a night where music, image, text and dance interacted in a whole.
