Janice Mclean

After a typical Canadian childhood, I graduated & began my life as an artist. My inspirational art trips to Europe - for extended lengths of time for up to a year -to study the Master Artist's techniques and artwork has been my greatest influence. I blend the rich browns from Holland with the French whites upon the golds & textures of Italy together on the canvas to create unique art pieces.
The oils are applied to a base texture of marble dust & leafing in thin glazes of up to 100 layers to achieve the intense depth of colour. Long days over a period of 3-6
weeks are required for each painting to complete.

The artwork has been collected in Canada, United States, England & Italy. My paintings are a reflection of life's journey over the past 40 years.
