Working from the Isle of Skye and the remote edges of the Hebrides, Lynne’s practice is rooted in landscapes shaped by time, weather, and tide. Her work draws from long traditions of looking—of returning again and again to the same horizons until place begins to loosen into memory, movement, and light.

Through fine art photography and atmospheric abstract works, she explores the meeting point between the seen and the felt. Waves dissolve into gesture, skies soften into breath, and colour becomes a quiet echo of the natural world rather than a description of it. While her work is anchored in specific geographies, it resists fixed location, inviting the viewer into a space that is contemplative, spacious, and timeless.

Lynne is particularly drawn to scale, creating large-format works intended to slow the eye and hold a room. Her images offer a refuge from noise and haste—a visual pause that speaks to the enduring human need for stillness, beauty, and connection to the elemental.

Her work is collected internationally and is suited to both private and architectural settings, where atmosphere and calm are as important as form.

Despite having an intense love and desire to be an Artist from a young age, I found myself with a career in Science. That said, even when at the peak of my career in Clinical Research and in between my role bringing up two daughters as a single parent, I always found time for Art. I played with Painting and Drawing for many years but eventually settled to Photography and in 2012 started a journey that has not ended.

I am self taught but as a researcher and scientist I naturally research everything until I understand where to start. I have spent almost as much time researching and delving into art as I have making it.
