Dana And Stephane Maitec

Dana & Stéphane Maitec have worked together since 1996 and have formed an artistic duo since 2002. Living and working between Paris and Bucharest, they develop projects situated at the intersection of photography, installation, light, and contemporary reinterpretations of cultural heritage.
Members of Maison des Artistes, their work has been exhibited internationally in Paris, Arles, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Geneva, Rome, Bologna, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, and other cities. Their photographs have appeared in publications including The Financial Times, Elle International, Worth Magazine, Where Magazine, and Paris Magazine. Their works are part of numerous private collections across France, Monaco, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Romania, the United States, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, and Mexico.
Over the years, their photographic universe has included personalities from film, fashion, and contemporary culture, among them Samuel L. Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, Michelle Rodriguez, and Kim Kardashian. Their series Reflections, exploring the fluid relationship between photography, abstraction, and light, has been exhibited internationally in Paris and Bucharest, including at NAG – Not A Gallery, Paris (2019), the National Museum of Art of Romania (2019–2020), Galerie Wagner, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris, as part of the exhibition La Couleur en Mouvement (2022), ARCUB Bucharest with the exhibition Reflections #2 (2023), (IN)Material at Metahaus Paris (2023), and at Café de Flore in Paris.
Earlier personal exhibitions include Crowning Heads Machine and Les Pinceaux de Ben Ami, presented during Les Rencontres d’Arles at Galerie de Poche in Arles (2013), at Galerie Anne & Just Jaeckin in Paris (2014), and at Victoria 46 in Bucharest.
Their recent exhibition Il tesoro ricamato delle Regine, developed in collaboration with the National Heritage Institute of Romania and the Royal Family Collection Foundation, is currently touring Italy following presentations at the Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia in Rome and Palazzo d’Accursio in Bologna, continuing in Florence and other Italian cities.
