I have always made both paintings and sculpture. My sculpture is interactive and deals with the human figure, not as an object but as a vehicle and how it relates to unconscious content and, at the same time, manifests the idea in a permanent form. The work is completed in the inner-workings of the mind of the viewer. Due to its conceptual nature, it is difficult to comprehend with photographs so a verbal description is needed to gain an understanding of its meaning and process.

The early paintings are are post-painterly abstraction and later return to a more direct expression but are always concerned with the problems of complimentary color.

Late Paintings- Totally abstract painting has great limitations. There are images and feelings important to our period in time that cannot be expressed by non-objective painting. Nudity in the repressive attitudes of American Society is equated with sexuality. My intention is to deal with these complex issues of the psyche and describe universal statements that relate to both my era and its society.
