Andi Hartana

Andi Hartana is an abstract painter born in Yogyakarta in 1977. He completed his studies at the Faculty of Visual Arts, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta (1996–2005). His paintings are rooted in personal experiences that are processed both critically and creatively. Andi constructs his abstract works through the application of color, line, and texture; at times, the composed lines are executed using a scraping technique that creates a distinctive, wild, and spontaneous look.
