Marina Schell

Marina Schell (1984) was born in Neuwied, Germany. She received a diploma with honors in Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Muenster, Germany. In 2009 she had a museum appearance and in 2012 Marina had a solo exhibition at gallery januar.
In 2008/2009 she earned an Erasmus scholarship for the École supérieure des Beaux Arts Montpellier, France and in 2011 she received a scholarship from the DFJW (OFAJ) for an Art-project in France. Her work is currently being shown in a collection in Germany.

Transparency or opacity, line or space, light or shadow, reflection or absorption, fragments or solid bodies, foreground or background, simplicity or complexity, purely geometrical or dissolving shapes – these contrasts and much more are intertwined in the paintings of Marina Schell.

The paintings are a kaleidoscopic of eye-catching fragments, triangles of diverse angles, that spread in a crystalline arrangement.
