He was born on 17th of August 1953 in Akhalgori, Georgia. In 1977 he graduated from Tbilisi state Academy of Art (diploma with honor) and later the post-graduate course of the academy. He is the professor at Tbilisi State Academy of art, member of International Art foundation since 1984, member of Union of Georgian Artists since 1983.
Niko Kherkeladze had numerous exhibitions in Georgia, Germany, Japan, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, France and Russia (majority of them in Moscow). His works have been awarded with diplomas and medals.
His works are kept at Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and Karl Marx State Museum in Germany, as well as in private collections of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, former Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Chernomyrdin, former President of Russia Boris Yeltsin, former Preseidne4t of Iran Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel, etc.
In 2010 in France, city of Paris, Niko Kherkeladze had presented his works at the Carousel near Louvre where he together with ten other artists had been awarded the diploma and prize (600 artists took part from 100 countries in the mentioned competition).
