Vladimir Michev

In my daily life I find inspiration in two main directions – from social topics affecting me as a person who is part of the common flow of life, and from the nature, with its uniqueness of beauty and resurgence.
I work primarily with wood, but do not deprive myself of the pleasure of experimenting with other techniques and materials. In my works I like to leave a sense of primitiveness, harshness, even incompleteness of form. Often I am looking for a different compositional presentation of the object and for varieties of its form’s texture.
For me art is the place to run away, to inspire myself and to feel positive emotion – both from the process of making it, as well as from its comprehension and contemplation; it fills me with many new emotions and feelings.
