My work is the result of a profound search of my own self, its the meeting of the soul, with the superior I and with the child that we all have within us. The images of a sublime world are channelled and are transformed later on into icons full of expression, strength, light and colour. The freedom and spontaneity in my work are the reflection of my ideological view of life in an ever-changing world. Man is the main axis of life and as such, through our work, we endeavour to protect the values, symbols and means which will enable human life to continue.

Iam an a dominican visual artist with thirty years experience and internantional background specifically in Belgium and some European cities.

I start in the art (1982-1987) as a student of architecture at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). Then, study painting with the famous Dominican master painter Guillo Perez. And Jean Jacque Academy Belliard Brussels, study sculpture.

Years of reflection and looking on myself and found an artist in me. My work reflects who am I? is the result of my researches, my experiences, my passions, but above all, is human, with her pretend to reflexion the spirit and brighten sense. I am an receiving channel of images.

We are influenced by our environment, nature, daily life, politics, the media, etc, etc, but there is an influence that is self-conscious that it is our own search. I am inspired by the love for life, for human beings, the joy of living, of being alive, nature, color, shapes, light, sincere friendship, good wine, healthy food and creating more beautiful God: the woman.

Umbrella: an instrument shaped dome is almost ever present in my artworks. Represents: protection, shelter, warmth, privacy or romantic moment of two lovers.

Mariojosé ANGELES, (22.03.1965) was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 1982, he starts studying architecture (University Autonomous of Santo Domingo) and after 3 years into the program, he decides to completely to studying painting. He held various collective and individual exhibitions in the Dominican Republic, starting in 1988. After his exhibition "Iconos Caribe" (1997) in the Archaeological Museum of Altos de Chavón, he was selected to participate in the Salon "Grands et Jeunes d'Aujoud'hui" in Paris. Since then, 1998 to 2007 he lived and worked in Brussels. In 200, he studied sculpture in the Academy of Fine Arts Jean Jacques Belliard, Brussels Belgium. In 2003 presented "Homosapiens-Caribeen" mural painting in the permanent collection of Notre de la Paix, University of Namur, Belgium. 2005- Parcours des Artistes Uccle, Brussels, Belgium. 2006- Projet “Integration” Installation - Photography - Painting, Salle Fabry, Brussels. In 2009 he presented the Installation Project “Santa Cucaracha” Enquiry on the AIDS vaccine in FIART- First International Art-fire at Palace of Fine Arts, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
