I have always held the conviction that painting is a form of music. For over twenty years, I explored every possible analogy between painting and music through live performances alongside musicians. Since music is an ephemeral art form, I wanted painting to be one as well. I went so far as to "silence" my paintings by covering them with cotton strips at the end of concerts, thereby removing the finished work from the audience's view just as the final musical notes faded away. The silence following the music struck me as almost more significant than the music itself or the painting created on stage. Consequently, in 2026, I made a radical shift, returning to works imbued with that same spirit but created in the studio, without musicians. I developed a minimalist, abstract series—born of my live performance experience—which I call "Silences."
