Monica Croese

Momo Luna S!gnals is the collective term i use for my art. I am Monica Croese. In the early eighties i followed the school of arts, Arnhem, The Netherlands. 

It always starts with an eye.  That's the beginning for a new painting or drawing.  As long as i can remember, i have been drawing. It's like breathing for me.  I am a dreamer and i create magical worlds.  These worlds explore social themes based on my personal experiences.  Which I then translate into collective memories. Birth, death, love, awareness. Life itself.   A connection between archetypes and emotions. It's all about the human condition, that's what fascinates me. I hope that the layered emotions of my work are actually felt. My way to communicate with other people. My vision of the world in which we live. 
I start with an eye, then chaos arises, ending in a new world.  A new reality with complex meanings. My work isn't intended as a decoration, it does not have to be beautiful. It sands and pinches. It can be a question or an exclamation mark. The core of our existence. With all its darkness and light, ugliness and hope. That is the real beauty for me.
