Magdalena Kwapisz-Grabowska is a Polish visual artist and painter based in Berlin, Germany. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between figuration and abstraction, with a particular focus on the human body, femininity, identity, memory and the transformation of familiar cultural images into an individual visual language.
Working primarily with painting and mixed media on canvas, she develops a distinctive approach to the human figure through simplification, fragmentation, geometric construction and expressive colour. Her compositions frequently reveal the texture of the raw canvas, allowing the material surface to become an active component of the image.
