Please let me introduce myself. I am a 62 year old male who's passion is anything to do with art. Ever since I was a child my Nan would buy me drawing pads and crayons, I loved to draw. Even my best birthday presents were art pads and pencils.
At school I couldn't wait for my art class which flew by, unlike maths lesson seem to drag on for ever. From an early age I would go to the library and ponder over paintings by famous artist, trying to copy their work from Leonardo de vinci to Hockney.
Until I went to college studying art is where I could appreciate the different styles of painting. I love
the impressionist paintings , Delacroix colours, Van goghs use of brushstrokes, and Monets use of light.
Although William turner was not an impressionist painter as such he's later work I admire the atmospheric feel to his works.
After leaving Barnet art college in 1978 I became a trainee draftsman with Sir Owen Williams and partners. I couldn't see much future in that so went on
as a bricklayers apprentice, finally working on Alexander Palace rebuilding the 6 feet round bullseyes 100 feet from the ground and many other famous buildings.
Still my passion for art was a hobby for me as unless famous would not pay the bills.
