Jennifer Bell

Jennifer Bell's artwork is an invitation to enter a world of colour, texture and detail. Her unique artistic vision is influenced by a rare neurological condition, visual snow, that enhances her perception of patterns and manifests as a constant overlay of dancing dots, flashes of light, and vivid colours.

This condition, speculated to have affected historic artists like Seurat and Van Gogh, and contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, infuses Jennifer's creations with a dynamic and energetic quality. Repetition is a crucial element in her work, with the use of repeated abstract marks and shapes serving to depict the constant visual noise she experiences. This distinct perspective provides a glimpse into her unique view of the world, drawing inspiration from both microscopic details and expansive aerial views. Her distinctive style features bold colour palettes and intricate patterns that transform visual noise into stunning abstract representations.

With almost 30 years of dedicated studio practice and prolific experience as a designer and illustrator, Jennifer holds a degree in Fine Art and has a rich background spanning art direction and running her own gallery. In 2004, she shifted from managing a physical gallery to showcasing her ...

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Newcastle. She later attended the University of Technology in Sydney to study Visual Communication, London's Putney School of Art and Design and the Waverley Woollahra Art School in Sydney.
