Born 1973 in Liverpool. Living in York, North Yorkshire since 2002. I have been painting for 14 years.

I am an instinctive painter. My pictures take form through the process of painting, not through adherence to a fully formulated plan.

Exploring my emotive response to my subject matter, I allow my paintings to develop as a result of my mood or subconscious mindset. They stem from an original idea, scene or situation and then come together of their own accord.

I try to infuse my pictures with fluidity, energy, colour and texture. My aim is to achieve a balance, a harmony and completeness.

I work spontaneously to convey my emotional energy into a painting. For me, this is the only way to ensure authenticity. I paint using acrylics, palette knives and brushes.

I am self taught.
