About Marjory Mulrooney

Born Glasgow , Scotland. Having lived and worked in Europe and the Middle East for many years and in Dorset UK for the past 6 years, I have recently moved back to Pezenas in the Herault region of France. Traditional materials used by artists have always been a fascination , so much of my work is an exploration of their materiality. I try to push their application to new limits. Graphite, charcoal, coloured pencils and ink are among the materials I currently work with, although I have also made Art with tea bags and smoke! Drawing is always at the heart of my work. Most recently I have had an exhibition at the Department of Physics and Astro-physics at Exeter University on the subject of graphene as well as taking part in a group show of artists whose work is a response to university research projects.
