Alisa Camberlan

I was born in Cumberland, Maryland. I have always felt a great affinity for the country and nature, and this is very evident in my art.

I am always looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary and try to make visible what is invisible. I try to find the inner life of what I am seeing. I look at my art as a way of not only seeing, but also growing and sharing and communicating with my environment.

I have been making art since the mid sixties when I was working in oil pastels, inspired by the work of Kandinsky, Miro, Matta, Gorky, Klee and Chagall. I earned a Bachelor of Art at the California State University at Long Beach. After working as a high fashion model here in LA and NY, I discovered the field of psychology. I earned a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a license as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist and set up a small private practice. After I raised my disabled child myself, I became intrigued with art again - full circle - with my taking classes at UCLA. I studied Basic Photography with Paula Goldman, Basic Digital Photography with Clover Leary, Intermediate Digital Photography with George Simian, and Contempory Now with Joao Enxuto. Making art is not my delight and love.,
