I love life.
With severe spinal impairment I am unable to Walk, and mobility is limited. Pain-ting is a pain...but a great distraction.
Discovering the works of Joseph Mallord William Turner, conceptual Art, Dadaism and Ernesto Neto have been a mammoth source of inspiration for my developing techniques, as have my journeys travelling to different parts of the world. Themes of major world occurrences are also depicted in my paintings, installations, two and three dimensional creations. I am constantly questioning and redefining my concepts of what is Art, impact and differences between east and west, and strive to find cohesive factors. This curiosity is directly due to my interest also of the European Masters, the Baroque painter Cotan- Cotan's realism Art and by reading extracts of Michel Foucault, The Birth of a Clinic and Madness and Civilization.
Researching Pollock, Hockney, Caulfield, Warhol, and Sophie Calle's work was truly and eye opener which led me to develop my first triptych, entitled: JOY, UNDER COFFEE AND COCOA SKIES.
