I like the concept of art as therapy. I always try to transfer into my paintings something that found a solution in me, canceling myself and being out of the moment, rested and completely satisfied. Canceling myself brings me freedom, means transfering myself into another flow, seeing myself with a different perception and communicating this cancellation to the outside world while beholding the beholders.
Passions to me are illusions, color a definition rather an emotion. I like the sensation that both shape and color can convey, like for instance the serenity that I look for and find in the windows of Rome that hide and relate countless stories.
When I paint I work fast: that gives me the serenity to find as soon as possible the right solution for the painting itself.
Salvatore Macri, born in 1987, attends school in the city of Rome, studies Eastern and Western cultures, specializes in kinesiology, cyberkinetics craniosacral therapy and practices and teaches Tai Chi Chuan.
His artistic sensibility has grown in time through personal life experiences and through artistic and cultural inspirations derived by music and painting, that are reflected in the harmonious polychromy of his paintings.
He always dedicated particular attention to the colors that characterize the series of paintings relating to Rome, his city.
