Karla Milne-West

I am Australian artist living in Amsterdam. I gained a degree in fine art (BA vis) at City Art Institute (now COFA) in Sydney 1987.
I work in acrylics on paper and canvas making seascapes and abstract seascapes in celebration of the sea and coastal landscapes. I mostly refer to sketchbook drawings and photographs taken on my travels, sometimes working en plein air. My intention is to recreate feelings and memories of the peace that for me, comes from being by and looking into the sea, searching time and again for that undefinable quality it holds for me.
