Katrina Russell

Mixed media artist and practicing anthropologist specialising in applied anthropology and sustainable international development. Taking inflences from in the field, specifically East Africa. My art brings my research to life.  The proud owner of a Mres and an inherited flare for creativity from my grandmother; I am lucky that my two passions inspire one another.

My art has equally served as a therapy for me when overcoming hard times and difficult periods in my life. It has been an escape for me! I love to paint with my hands, experiment with mediums, and create art that is 'beautiful'. I like my art to promote thought, but above all allow the eyes to rest on the delicate and beautiful details.

I have achieved a bachelors of arts with honours in applied anthropology, and a Masters of research in anthropology.
I predominantly produce art inspired by my research in East Africa. But Some of my paintings draw inspiration from my time in the UK too.
