Heike Katala
born 1965 in Krefeld, residing and working in Willich.

I have had my love for artistic work across my whole career. I am a trained illustrator for textile design, hold an master's degree in Textile Engineering and have studied painting under Era Freidzon. Since completing my training in Creative Education under the artist Anna Schüler, I have been focusing on expressive painting.
In my works I combine intuitive painting with delicate drawings using ink or graphite. These works are emotional and energetic. A kind of painted diary. Each work is part of a path and show's the achieved goal at it's time of creation, to then move on to the next. ( , to then move along. / weglassen)
My acrylic paintings of the Dialogue series are the result of many individual steps - multpile layers of colour are applied with varying degrees of transparency - areas melt together and form yet another dimension.
In the small format I have fused my passion for ink drawings with intuitively painted backgrounds. Currently I am returning to my drawing roots and am creating delicate aquarelle art by using graphite and ink drawings
