Lavi Picu

Lavi Picu is a Romanian interdisciplinary artist currently living in Montreal, Canada.

She is an emerging visual artist who uses painting and poetry as alternative forms of self expression as well as pain management therapy for Lyme disease. She is also the author of four soulful collections of poetry.

Lavi challenges herself daily to capture bits of the beauty that surrounds her. She draws her inspiration from her travels, from everywhere, far and near, from daily activities, music, love, pain, her poetry as well as her personal experiences.

She loves working and experimenting with layers of acrylic paint, creating an array of textures. Shes uses watercolor, pastel, oil colors, colored pencils, but she is more drawn to acrylics.

Her paintings can be found in private collections from North America, Europe, Asia and Central America.

Majored in Linguistics, with a background in Translations and writing, she`s also a ghost writer, a blogger with a focus on arts and health and a Lyme Disease advocate.

In 2017 she launched an online awareness campaign for Lyme disease that reached people from all over the world. She has been blogging about Lyme on various online platforms and on the blockchain.

She is an active board member of WASM (Women`s Art Society of Montreal). As the Charity Chairperson she is always looking to form partnerships with charity organizations and is interested in community outreach projects.
