Nombeko Mafenuka

Nombeko Mafenuka started drawing at a very young age. She is originally from the Eastern Cape in a small village of Tsomo, in the former Transkei. She grew up in a very disadvantaged community and they didn’t have any proper drawing material. As a child she used to draw on rocks and on aloe plant leaves.

She currently lives and works in Cape Town as an arts educator and an artist since the early 1990's.

She has been doing art since she was in high school. She has sold her work around the world.
