Patricia Corbett

I am an oil painter and have exhibited in Connecticut, Florida and California, France and Italy. My landscapes and figure works imply a mixture of the Mediterranean/Caribbean and impressionistic style.
From an early age, I wanted to be an artist. My mother, Sarah, introduced the world of art through her own creative spirit as a multi media artist.
It wasn't unusual spending time sketching in the early childhood years in our backyard with my brother, Michael, who has become a successful western landscape artist. Presently, 6 of my siblings are artists. When I went back to art after a full career in singing around the world, I studied with my other brother Raymond, who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and sells at a gallery in Carmel, CA.
I enjoy plein air painting in Italy, Paris, France and Connecticut as well as in California.

Born and educated in Los Angeles, California.
Studied in my early years with Dr. Charles Bluske in California at El Camino College.
I pursued advanced studies receiving a degree in liberal arts.
I did graduate work in music at UCLA and USC.
Reconnected with art while living and teaching in Connecticut.

2012 & 2016: Will McCarthy - Farnese, Italy - 2 10-day workshops in oil landscape painting.

2014: Florence, Italy - 10-day workshop with Sandra Wakeen at Palmerino.
2015: Kathy Anderson - workshop in painting flowers.
