Adela Nurković-Kulenović is a visual artist born in Montenegro, currently living and working in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She holds a Master’s degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Education, University of Sarajevo.
Her artistic practice explores inner and psychological realities through abstraction. Rather than depicting external reality, her work consciously reshapes lived experience into an imaginative and introspective space. Color plays a central role in her paintings, symbolizing life itself — present in every moment of human existence. It does not necessarily describe recognizable forms, but exists independently, influencing the viewer on an emotional level.
Her paintings often consist of layered color fields and geometric surfaces from which a white silhouette emerges. This recurring figure represents presence, departure, or arrival — the space between coming and leaving in which personal identity and memory are shaped.
