Adrián Villeta combines painting and photography to create a romantic vision that captures the grace and elegance of a bygone era while celebrating the modern virtues of strength, independence, and self-confidence found in his subjects. In his words, “Throughout my life, art has been a “door” to a unique and beautiful world where I am able to “get lost” in my dreams”.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Villeta’s career spans 35 years as a professional artist. His first studies were with Andrés Bueso, renowned local painter, with whom he learned to polish his artistic eye regarding composition and the use of color. At the Nuestra Señora del Pilar high school, the direction of his life changed when he understood that he could “paint” using the camera lens. While attending the Sagrado Corazón university, he was the assistant to the renowned Spanish photographer Gabriel Suau. He continued his studies at the Corcoran School of Arts in Washington, DC, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Since his beginning, women have been a source of inspiration.
