Agnes Barley was born in 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida. She began her undergraduate studies at Parsons School of Design in NYC and finished with an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. Agnes was a visiting artist at the Domaine de Kerguehennec in France. Her selected exhibitions include the Museum of Luxemburg, Kunstraum Vienna, The Vienna Seccession, House Gallery in Jacksonville, The New Arts Gallery in Connecticut and the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
My work attempts to crystallize harmony, to distill form into careful constructs of line that reveal internal structure and pinpoint place. The places or spaces created are metaphors for context. They are diagrams of a sort exposing relationships in thought, to oneself or to the world.
