Aki Kano

I am an award winning New York based contemporary realist painter specializing in watercolor portraits. Fascinated by faces, I enjoy analyzing the subtle nuances of shapes, textures and colors that make up my subjects’ features.

I received my B.F.A from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Then I studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Currently, I take classes at the Art Students League in NYC.

I have completed numerous portrait commissions and my work has been displayed widely in prestigious juried shows and galleries. I am a member of the International Guild or Realism- IGOR.
