He was born in Buenos Aires in 1939. His first artistic experience began at age 10, studying drawing and painting at the De Ridder Workshop and exhibiting at the Müller Gallery in 1952. In his youth, he worked in a printing shop and completed his training at the Miluz ink factory, acquiring a deep knowledge of graphic arts.
In 1962, he co-founded a photography studio with Eduardo Quirno and began collaborating with La Nación and La Gaceta de Tucumán, where he continues contributing as a freelance photographer. In the 1970s, he trained at Consolidated Film Industries in Hollywood and attended master classes at USC, complementing his work at ALEX Film Laboratories, a company founded by his grandfather.
He has published 52 art books, documenting Argentina’s landscapes, people, and cities. His collaborations include writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Ray Bradbury, Manuel Mujica Láinez, Silvina Ocampo, and Silvina Bullrich. Among these, The Ghosts of Forever (1980), created with Ray Bradbury and published by Rizzoli International, was presented at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles alongside an exhibition of his original illustrations and a lecture by Bradbury.
