Alejandra De La Garza

Alejandra de la Garza is a Mexican artist based in Barcelona.

In 2026, she decided to fully dedicate herself to her career
as a painter. Working from her studio in Barcelona’s Gràcia
district, she creates predominantly large-scale abstract
expressionist works using diluted acrylics and mixed
media. Her process begins with the canvas laid on the floor,
where movement, intuition, and fluidity shape the initial
composition. The canvas is then stretched and mounted
vertically, allowing her to further develop the work
through layering, gestural mark-making, and refined details.

Her inaugural collection, Mexiterranean, explores emotional
landscapes inspired by the Mediterranean, her native Mexico
and her inner world. Through vibrant color palettes,
organic forms, and expressive gestures, the collection
captures the interplay between nature, memory, movement,
and emotion, inviting viewers into immersive spaces
of contemplation and transformation.
