Alejandro Faura is a contemporary figurative painter based in Spain. Born in Cuba in 1974, he studied Fine Arts in Cuba and developed part of his artistic career in Germany before moving to Spain. His work explores memory as an unstable territory where identity is constructed through absence, permanence, and the traces of lived experience. Solitary figures and recurring red fish appear as symbolic elements between reality, imagination, and dreams. Working primarily in oil on canvas, he creates atmospheres of silence and introspection. His work is represented on several international art platforms.
He studied Fine Arts in Cuba, completing three years of training at the Elementary School of Art in Las Tunas (1986–1989), followed by four years at the Professional School of Fine Arts in Las Tunas (1989–1993). His training provided a strong foundation in drawing, painting, composition, and the study of the human figure.
