Aleksi Ranta

I am a professional guitarist, composer and sound artist based in Helsinki, Finland.

My primary practice is music, particularly improvisation, composition and sound-based work. Visual art is not a separate discipline for me, but an extension of the same improvisational thinking.

I approach painting intuitively, working with color, texture and gesture in a way similar to musical improvisation. The visual works often emerge in direct connection with musical projects, serving as parallel expressions rather than standalone artworks.

My work focuses on process, presence and material honesty rather than formal painterly technique.
