Through painting & printing I create bold figurative portraits. I also depict creatures & objects that we humanize & value such as ships & submersibles. How I portray the subject reflects my observations & relationship with that person or object.
The work guides the viewer, to see details or the beauty of a moment. It is emotional, drawn on experiences & observations developed from my photography, conversations & travel as an expedition artist.
Inspired by the mix of science & art my work is often graphic & has roots in historical advocacy such as Futurism or the promotion of ideas.
