Born in Paris, Alexandra Moskalenko comes from a family of painters of French and Latvian/Ukrainian origins. She is a self-taught, award-winning artist and is based in London.

Her work celebrates diversity and biodiversity, and examines the concepts of displacement, representation, belonging and identity.

Some of her paintings explore the relationship between human beings and the natural world, the interconnectedness of life and highlight the importance for us to live in harmony with ‘Mother Nature’.

Awards and recognitions:

• Her painting ‘A-Jay’ was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer exhibition 2015.

• Her painting ‘Citizen of the World – J1’ was shortlisted for the prestigious Threadneedle Prize exhibition and ‘Dapper’ was shortlisted for the Lynn Painter- Stainers Prize in 2018.

• Her painting ‘Madonna and Child (Mum and Kid) II’ was shortlisted for the Brixton Art Prize and exhibited at the Department Store in Brixton (July 2022).

• Her painting ‘Citizen if the World – O1’ was shortlisted by the Visible Artist Award (May 2023) sponsored by Audible and is subsequently being exhibited for 3 years at the HQ of Audible London.

• Her painting ‘NHS Nurse with blue lipstick’ was longlisted for the Women in art Prize 2024.

• Alexandra won third prize in the Influence Gallery competition and her painting ‘La Danse 6: Summer’ was exhibited at the 5-star hotel Andaz Liverpool street from 30 October 2024 until 31 January 2025.

• Her painting ‘Moonlight Kiss’ was longlisted in the Visual Art Open 2025.
