About Alex Krasnogolovets

I`m a Ukrainian sculptor. Born in 1951 in Zhytomyr region in Ukraine. From 1994 till now I`m a Professor and Docent of the Department of Fine Arts at the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University in Kyiv. In 1979–1986 I was a teacher at the State Art Shevchenko High School in Kiev. I make portraits, compositions, monuments, sculpture medals. My works are characterized by the internal expression, impressionistic style of execution, elegant plasticity and fine modeling of the form, attraction to psychology and sharpening of emotions. I made the monument of Mikhail Drahomanov (installed in Kyiv); the monumental composition "The history of knot printing" (installed on Col. Shutova St. 13, Kyiv) and a big gallery of sculpture portraits of prominent teachers of Ukraine (K. Ushinsky, V. Sukhomlynsky, and others). Also, I reconstructed bas-relief images for the sarcophagus in Maniavskii Skit (Ivano-Frankivsk region, 2006). Some works are stored at the Museum of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. Famous works: -the monument to Mikhail Drahomanov (installed in Kiev, Pirogov street 9, in front of the main building of the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University. -monumental composition "The history of knot printing" (installed on Col.
