Alex Kyah

Alex Kyah is a Geneva-based painter, whose work explores identity, intimacy, and personal transformation through expressive figuration and bold use of color.

Growing up in a cultural environment where queerness was deeply marginalized, Alex was forced to suppress their identity from an early age. This experience became the seed for a lifelong search for authenticity and personal liberation. Art emerged as both refuge and resistance - a way to reclaim what was hidden and reconnect inner truth with outward expression.

Drawing on a background in brand management and storytelling, Alex brings a refined sense of mood, symbolism, and visual tension to their work. Since 2019, they have cultivated a focused studio practice under the mentorship of Swiss-Cuban painter Yoanys Diaz. Their work has been exhibited in Geneva, featured internationally through digital platforms. In 2025, they received a Certificate of Artistic Achievement from the Luxembourg Art Prize, and their work has appeared in Artist Talk Magazine and Artistic Hub Magazine.
